About Katie Lane Farm
Katie Lane Farm is a 2.7 acre vegetable farm in Western Pennsylvania. It is a parcel from a larger farm that has been in our family for three generations. About 10 years ago, we decided that we should develop a place where we could stay active in our retirement and practice some of the things we learned growing up on our parents' farm.

While thought of as a place to stay active, we also wanted to have a working, profitable farm. Farming has changed considerably in our lifetime. Concepts like farm to table have opened new opportunities for small farms. Finding a market for what we grow is an important part of the process. Getting to know produce managers, chefs and owners of small markets and restaurants is both enjoyable and rewarding.

The farm is cared for by family members that range in age from 10 to 80+. We all do what we can. There are times when the work is hard and the days are long but it is always rewarding. Being part of producing vegetables from seed to table is truly a journey. The lessons learned and the experiences gained can last a lifetime.
